Other information |
Treatment centres from across England submitted their data to the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID). These treatment centres include community-based specialist drug and alcohol services, primary care services, residential rehabilition centres and inpatient units. Double counting in the treatment figures may have occurred if individuals changed their Local Authority of residence during the year. Data for Local Authories on the ViewIt platform are rounded to the nearest 5, so may not exactly sum to UK figures. The Prevalence, trends and amenability to treatment report published by the University of Sheffield explains how alcohol prevalence estimates were calculated. Data were collected from 1st April to 31st March each year. Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) data is available in the OHID Alcohol and drug misuse and treatment statistics for the number and percentage of adults (18+) and young people in treatment for substance use disorders (drug use disorders and alcohol use disorders) including by substance, sex, age, ethnicity, and disability status. This information is not presented here as we do not have estimates of prevalence of substance use disorders for these groups. Data follows the UN specification for this indicator. This indicator has been identified in collaboration with topic experts. |
