2020 indicator changes

The UN has recommended 36 changes to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators. This was one of the findings of the UN’s 2020 Comprehensive Review Process. The changes include replacing, revising, adding or deleting existing indicators.

Celebrating International Women's Day 2020

In celebration of International Women’s Day on Sunday (8th March), we have looked at what the UK SDG data says about the experience of women in the UK today.

The Department for International Development (DfID) has partnered with countries in Africa and Asia and we receive funding from DfID to support these countries with their SDG reporting. Our aim is to help improve the quality and availability of SDG data for these overseas partners.

Our Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) project funds specific work across the Office for National Statistics (ONS). In this update those teams that receive SDG project funding explain the work they have been doing directly related to SDGs.

The commitment to “leave no one behind” is central to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It extends to making our digital content accessible and functional for all users regardless of any disability or physical impairment.

Using APIs

Currently, our UK SDG data site requires data files to be in a specific format. This means that we have to reformat data that is in a different format in order to make it usable on the site. We are looking to automate the process of updating the data we report.
